08/09/11 - BIG, BIG UPDATEHoly crap has it been that long since I updated!? Okay here's what's happened in a nuteshell. We've welcomed four new team memebrs, two script programmers and two artists to the team, all of whom are very talented and I can't wait to work with, we've already gotten a lot done. Those of you who follow our facebook page, www.facebook.com/finalfantasyzero will know most of hte updates that have happened. Especially you'll have seen many of the concept drawings of the new systems. like the "Tactical Formation System" and various updates via the YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/petrosofsparta - but a lot of stuff is still to come, videos, pictures and other updates will soon detail how we intend to create both a linear story driven experience and a choice-driven player exeperience at the same time where you choices will affect how the game plays out for the players thesmelves broading out as the game progresses to being able to select where you want to go and when and how this can affect the overall character's journeys. We really look forward to giving you more news in the future, including showing some new ideas off such as mini-games, puzzles, skill-earning qunique to each character and some old classics like an updated and improved version of Final Fnatasy XI's "Active Time Event" sytem, where in this one, it is not only story advantageous but gamplay advantagous to watch these optional cutscens, some even changing depending on the order they are watched in.All this and much , much more to come soon on more updates, the more frequent of which are found on our facebook page as linked above and on every page on this site. See you around people and watch this space.- Petro s L. Ioannou (Lead Developer)07/04/11 - NEW WEBSITENew webiste is up and running. Most updates are now done through the facebook page which can be found here at www.facebook.com/finalfantasyzero - so if you want more frequent updates please "like" us there and get your own input . Meanwhile just enjoy this new site and new forums will be up soon. 20/05/10 - BACK AT FULL STEAMWe're back! It's been a long few months but operations are running again and we're working away to get this game made. The trailer is in production again and we should have some more news soon. In the mean time here is a vLog from the creator, Petros L. Ioannou on his youtube channel that tells of what's to come and includes a few clips from the making of the game that were taken for the trailer.Petros' VLOG - I'm Back... with Clips! 26/02/10 - SILENT RUNNINGOkay, I know the forums have been essentially dead for a while and that I've barely made a peep in terms of news or updates on YouTube, and the trailer that was originally due for a Jan 31st release is still on the way. Basically we've gone into silent running mode right now until the trailer release. We've got some pretty big things to show including new demos and the introduction of a new and semi-famous crew member. Never fear though as we're not dead here, just running silent. Please be patient with us and we'll catch you up to date as soon as we can. 19/01/10 - DONATIONSI did mull over this for a while, given this project's status as fanmade and non-profit. However given the increasing costs of this game to make, primarily for hired help. I have decided to create a "Donate" button on the main page and page for donating specifically. The time we spend making this game is a lot and we are trying to give you the best end product we possibly can. This donation is completely optional and those who do donate will be rewarded, perhaps with special features on the game, a t-shirt, poster or something along those lines. Either way, we would all be very grateful if you did donate towards this fund. You have my sincerest guarantee that all money given to us for this project will go directly to the funding of the making of this game. 02/01/10 - NEW LOGO AND COMING SOON, NEW TRAILERFirst of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR! Welcome to 2010, hopefully the year this damn game gets bloody released. Anyway, two new things, we have a new logo, wooo! Which is great, the artwork is done by Martina Bastalic, as usual I have done my best to be a grand publicity whore, and even uploaded a Youtube video to state as such. The new logo can be seen everywhere from this website to the wikia. In other news on Jan 31st a new trailer will be arriving, this will also give the official release date on this trailer, which I will stick to no matter what state the project is in, I don't care if a virus eats my computer alive and I lose all my work, I'll still give you a downloadable game that is called Final Fantasy: Zero on that date. In the mean time this trailer will be Chapter One's official theatrical trailer. See you guys on the 31st.20/12/09 - CHRISTMAS TIME, NEW YEAR AND BEYONDSo the holiday season is upon us and as I haven't written any news for a while I thought I'd get around to that. So, with Christmas and 2010 around the corner what does that mean for Final Fantasy: Zero? Well if you've been following us on the fourms, and you better have been damn you! Then you'll be aware of some of the graphical changes being made to he game. From here on out there will not be a single bit of RTP Tileset in the game. Instead the graphics for the locations will all be custom made, mostly using Inquisitor's Medieval Tileset for RMXP as a basis. Though this isn't an exact estimate we might be looking a Late January release for Chapter One. I've currently set it as Q1 release due to my lack of information and bad estimating skills in the past really, on what is an ongoing debate. One thing is certain, there WILL be a new trailer before the end of the New Year, I can guarantee that. In other news in accordance with the release, I will soon be releasing on my youtube account "PetrosofSparta" a new series called Countdown to Zero, which will in turn review each and every main series Final Fantasy game to date, giving you my opinions and general facts on the series. Starting with my thoughts on the upcoming Final Fantasy XIII and working my way backwards from Final Fantasy XII to the original Final Fantasy game. It will also mention how this is all related to Zero as well, so keep your eyes peeled for that in the future. 24/10/09 - PROGRESS REPORTThere's not much to report on at the moment except that many new songs by Jeremy King and Richard J Duran have been uploaded. We also have a new composer Kevin Penkin from Happy Ramen Studios, I'm sure he'll be able to do some fine work. Anyway, the battle theme has been uploaded to Youtube now so you guys can take a listen to the music that you'll love but will also slowly drive you insane as the random battle happens AGAIN. On the scripting side Demonfire has completed integrating the battle system into my game, didn't really take much but I had no idea what was causing the problem so thanks go to him for figuring it out. He's now getting to work on the orb system and when that's complete we can go into beta testing. On the graphical side we're fiddling around with a new style of city designs. Changing from the old RTP to a unique style for every major city. Keiros City will look like Victorian London for example and Langara will now look like Ancient Rome/Athens however we only have Keiros City's tileset made so if anyone knows of a Greco-Roman tileset style that would fit in with the RTP sized graphics, let me know.Actually that was quite a bit to report on... :-D 28/9/09 -BATTLE VIDEO AND NEW MUSICIAN Today is a good day for us. The loss of Landreth 'Max' Baugh has meant that we have had to search for a new musician. This has lead us to Jeremy King, who is already doing some music for another game "Ruined Fantasy". His music is very impressive and can be viewed on the YouTube channel "PetrosofSparta" under the Final Fantasy: Zero OST. Another thing is that there is also a new video up demonstrating the battle system. This is as I promised. There will soon also be a downloadable demo of this system to play. It can be viewed in the Trailers section of this site or on YouTube at the same channel. 8/9/09 - GOODBYE MAXThis message is a sad thing for Final Fantasy: Zero and a loss for Leon Corp in general. Landreth Baugh, a.k.a. Max Studios will no longer be composing for Final Fantasy: Zero. Due to personal commitments he can no longer keep up with the hours of composing that he has done for us in the past. We will miss him and thank him for developing the Main Theme, World Map and Minos' Themes. That being said we are currently looking for a new original music composer and if anyone knows anyone out there or would like to apply themselves, please don't hesitate to tell me or ask me. Either post on the forums, send me a private message or an email. Goodbye and good luck Max. 6/9/09 - NEW VIDEOS COMINGSoon enough there will be a few new videos released on the website and youtube. The first of which is a vlog entry from me giving updates to the youtubers, which will not be released here. The second is a new video demo of the updated battle system, this will also be released with a tech demo so people who have the time can play it through. The third and fourth videos, which will be the final ones for the moment will be two new trailers, one that has already been released to RMXP users, the Heroes and Villains trailer and a third more theatrical trailer will be released too, which will be brand new and never seen before. This will happen shortly before the release of Chapter One: Awakening, which I can only hope will see release before the end of 2009. No guarantees though I'm afraid. 5/4/09 - FORUM IS READYYeah, I'm aware they've been up for a while but the forums are now properly up with a Register page set up too now. 20/2/09 - WEBSITE ONLINEThe new Final Fantasy: Zero website has been set up today with character profiles, storyline, screenshots and artwork, trailers for the game, discussion forums and even it's own game wikia.
